Women’s Golf brings Heeloween to Durham

Before the Women’s golf team walked Franklin Street, they tested their outfits to see how scary they were at the 38th  Durham Jaycees Haunted House on Oct. 28.

“We all had such a great time helping out at the Durham Jaycees 38th Annual Haunted House.  We got creative putting on crazy make-up and scary outfits and had a blast putting on the sketches inside the haunted house!” – Senior Jordan Allyne, Women’s Golf.

Along with bringing scares and frights, Women’s Golf brought over raffle items for the Haunted House.  Items included signed footballs from Butch Davis and the UNC football team, a UNC soccer ball signed by Anson Dorrance, a UNC Lacrosse fleece, a bunch of 2010-2011 UNC signed team posters, and other UNC apparel.

Both UNC and Duke student-athletes joined together to support the Durham Jaycees Haunted House from Oct. 22-24 and Oct. 27-31. Proceeds from admissions, raffle items, and donations benefit charities that serve Durham residents.

The total amount that was raised this year have not been added up yet, but in the last two years the Durham Jaycees Haunted House has raised and donated over $20,000 to non-profits in Durham. For a list of this year’s beneficiaries, click HERE.
